Six members of staff of NICO Insurance Zambia Limited were on Friday 11th August, recognised for their excellence in service to the customers as well as to the company at a ceremony held at Head Office in Lusaka for the first and second quarter of 2017.
This comes in a work to award the deserving members of staff who have exceptionally excelled and have been outstanding in their line of duty by going an extra mile in servicing customers thereby retaining their loyalty which stands a test of time.
The Six members of staff were the first recipients of the first ever staff excellence awards in the history of NICO Insurance since inception in the last 20 years. The awards are also meant to enhance staff performance and motivate employees to work even harder.
For the first quarter ending 31st March 2017, the 3rd Position went to Frederick Mutoya – Underwriter from Kitwe Branch while second position went to Aliangel Gomani – Underwriter from Lusaka Main Branch at head office. Margaret Mwanza also Underwriter from Lusaka Main Branch scooped the first position making her the first ever recipient of excellence awards. The trio walked away with a certificate each and prize money of K350, K700 and K1, 050 respectively.
And for the second quarter ending 30th June 2017, Claire Banda-Jere from Claims department at Lusaka Main Branch managed to get the 3rd position walking away with a certificate of excellence and K350 prize money. The second position went to Fanwell Nguni, Credit Control – Lusaka Main Branch bagging K700 and a certificate of excellence while the 1st Position was scooped by Mr Emmanuel Mphande from Administration at Lusaka Main Branch. He walked away with a certificate and K1, 050 prize money.
Speaking during the inaugural ceremony for the excellence awards, Chief Executive Officer Mr Geoffrey Chirwa reminded members of staff to put in their very best adding that management will not hesitate to recognise such members of staff for their outstanding performance in their call of duty. He said the greatest asset of any company is the employee and as such, management will take the excellence awards seriously and ensure that well deserved members of staff are recognised and awarded accordingly for their outstanding performance.
In his speech at the prize-giving ceremony, the guest of honour Mr Humphrey Kabwe who is also Managing Director of AON Zambia Limited, told management to adopt a strategic management tool of employee engagement that will enhance staff involvement in the operations of the business thereby increasing productivity and output of all members of staff.
He said another important tool that needs a lot of attention is customer engagement because a customer is key in any business adding that without the customer, no single business can thrive. “Therefore, whatever you do as NICO Insurance, the ultimate should be customer satisfaction which includes the brokers”, said Mr Kabwe.
