Legal Aid Board of Zambia Director, Mr Anderson Ngulube delivering his Product Launch speech
In launching the product, Mr. Ngulube commended NICO Insurance Zambia Limited for coming up with such an innovative product that will make the lives of the people and that of Legal Aid Board easy in dealing with some of the challenges that the nation is faced with. He said this initiative, will with no doubt, add value and bring development to the economy.
He added that with this development, many of the small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) as well as individuals will survive and their businesses will be sustained as they strive to access legal services at affordable fees through the product.
Mr Ngulube further stressed that many of the SMMEs cannot afford the high cost legal fees saying that most of them once involved in legal battles end up bankrupt. He said with NICO’s Legal Insurance now in place, those issues will be a thing of the past as small businesses will no longer focus so much on where next they will get money to deal with their legal battles, instead they can focus on their businesses knowing that NICOInsurance is there to take care of their legal expenses when they are hit by legal challenges.
The Director said NICO’s Legal Expenses Plan has come at a critical time when a lot of individuals and corporate firms require legal services whose fees are prohibitive. This product has come in handy to complement his organisation’s mission of providing effective and quality legal services to persons whose means are inadequate in order to promote access to justice at affordable rates.
“NICO Insurance, through the launch of this innovative product, together with my organisation will effectively contribute to the promotion of good governance and accessibility to justice by vulnerable individuals”, said Mr Ngulube.
In flagging off the product, Mr Ngulube stated that as the Legal Aid Board, they will support such initiatives as this is one of the ways of providing financial freedom to the citizens of Zambia thereby affording them an opportunity to have access to justice.
