House owner's policy provides financial protection against loss due to Fire, damage to the house as result of a break-in or theft or attempted theft of Landlord's fixtures and fittings in or on the premises.

Standard       Non-Standard       Thatched Roof

The Standard Construction class refers to building materials that are not highly combustible as follows: Walls and Roof

A. Walls: concrete, brick, rock and/or steel frames filled with brick or covered in metal.
B. Roof: corrugated iron, slate tiles, cement or another similar composition.
C. Buildings as above with one open side.

The non-standard type of construction has been defined as being timber framed/clad buildings as well as cold storage facilities (either with brick or steel external walls using internal EPS (EPS type insulated panels are panels manufactured with polystyrene interior sandwiched between two pieces of sheet metal. EPS means expanded polystyrene)-type insulated panels, sometimes these forming part of the exterior of the building).

Additional to this the following must be considered:
D. Walls other than those referred to in (A) above or where one or more side is open.
E. Roof other than those referred to in (B) above (e.g. shingles, Asbestos).
F. Standard construction buildings with more than one open side.
G. Property in the open as well as fences.

Thatch roofed buildings are self-explanatory, and may be comprised of brick, steel, timber or open-sided buildings under thatch roofing.
